That is Not Material On Margot Robbie’s Gown—It is Human Hair. See the Pictures


To date within the Wuthering Heights press run, Margot Robbie and her glam group have embraced a romantic fever dream aesthetic aligned with the movie itself: surprising hair equipment, goth-slash-glam couture robes, and now, a gown enhanced not with ribbons or lace, however with braided strips of actual human hair.

There are layers—pun supposed—to this stage of element. For the UK premiere of the Emerald Fennell-directed movie, Robbie wore a sheer nude Dilara Findikoglu robe with a corseted bodice, embellished with braided golden-brown ropes of actual human hair throughout the bodice, shoulders, and lengthy, slim skirt. However the hair element has a deeper significance—not solely does it give the gown an earthy, fairytale-like texture, it is also paying homage to the Brontë sisters in essentially the most stunning method.

In line with hairstylist Claire Moore, who collaborated with Robbie’s stylist Andrew Mukamal and designer Dilara Findikoglu on the robe, the braided hair element was impressed by a treasured bracelet worn by Charlotte Brontë, sister of Wuthering Heights author Emily Brontë. The bracelet, a duplicate of which Robbie wore to the premiere, was created partially with hair from each Emily and Anne Brontë, and Moore labored to match their golden and brown hair colours precisely; she made swatches of the colours, which Findikoglu then took to the Brontë Parsonage Museum to check with the bracelet band for full accuracy. As soon as the hair colours have been right, a group of braiders set to work crafting each bit and stitching it to the robe. (Watch a few of that actually attractive course of right here.) In whole, Moore says the group used 22 packets of 24-inch hair for the ultimate look.
