Thursday, July 31, 2025, marks my final day as Managing Editor with iRunFar. It’s been fairly a journey over the previous three years, and whereas I’ll be unhappy to say goodbye, I’m trying ahead to taking on the place of reader and fan, and appreciating the good storytelling of all at iRunFar with an out of doors perspective.
Loads has occurred for me each professionally and personally within the three years and three months since I started my journey with iRunFar, initially as Editor. On the time of my appointment, I used to be working solo by means of life and anticipating journey, which working at iRunFar supplied in spades. Alongside the best way, nonetheless, I’ve picked up a rescue cat, a husband, a baby — and one other on the best way. As my little household continues to develop, it seems like time to go the torch, and focus my attentions nearer to house.

It’s been a privilege to be a part of the staff and I’ll at all times be grateful to Meghan Hicks and Bryon Powell for trusting me with their creation — this distinctive website, which has overseen a lot progress and alter within the sport. Our staff has additionally been enhanced by the multifaceted presence of soon-to-be Managing Editor, Eszter Horanyi. Whether or not she’s wanted as a author, an editor, a photographer, a buddy for a 5 a.m. run, or a 5 p.m. beer — Eszter can at all times be relied upon. There isn’t any yet another deserving of the title of Managing Editor, and I’m excited to see the course she helps to steer the iRunFar ship in.

As for me, as I depend all the way down to the arrival of child quantity two in six weeks, I’m trying ahead to taking a while away from work to observe my little ones develop. I hope I can use the teachings I’ve discovered by means of my time at iRunFar to instill in them a love and respect for the pure world, and the curiosity to take the path much less adopted.
